Beta Community Guidelines

Scott Hartman of EverQuest 2 wrote a Beta Community Guidelines is really damn good. Recently, Zie Aun and I have been talking about MMO / virtual worlds operations. Hartman’s guidelines touch on many issues.

Who are we?

Hatchlings Games is a games studio based in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. We are a team of web and game developers including programmers, game designers, graphic designers who are all at heart passionate about advancing human evolution through games. We are young and hungry, eager for glory and like Achilles, will battle at Troy knowing what may come.

Our first creation is the Quasr world. A creationist world which aims to inspire young people to create by playing games. Imagine a web application like Google Maps where every grid can be created by ordinary mortals. Groups of these grids on the map can be used to host events, play games, auction items, socialize, and shiatz. One such game is a trading card game (TCG) where you can create your own cards based on a set of blueprints and abilities and put them to battle on a board. In April 2007, we had our first Alpha testing of the TCG. went Shortly after the first Alpha tournament, we brought the game down to add the user created features.
